    Thanks, Julia …

Yogi Berra is one of the greatest Yankees and Baseball icons of all-time !!! … It will be fun to see him again this upcoming Sunday, July 19th at the Yankees annual Old-Timer’s Day at Yankee Stadium !!! … There are not too many of the great Yankee old-timers left from the late 1940’s, 1950’s, and early 1960’s — Yogi Berra and Whitey Ford are the best of that era that are still with us, and Yankee fans enjoy honoring these two greats at the Old Timer’s Day celebration each year !!! … In the future, Derek Jeter and Mariano Rivera will be the top honored Yankees at these Old Timer’s Day celebrations, just like: DiMaggio, Mantle, Berra, Ford, Rizzuto, Martin, Murcer, etc., were in many Old Timer Days that I remember in my early days of following the New York Yankees !!! … Time moves on, but the great New York Yankees tradition continues !!!
Take care, Julia; and, have a great day !!!

    Hi, Canuck …

Your comment says it all … Yogi and Derek are like you said, “Two of the best” …….. “No one can ever deny that” … “Ever” !!! … The New York Yankees have a very rich history and traditon; and, Yogi Berra is a connection to the past greatness, and Derek Jeter represents the current Yankee greatness !!! … Both are true Yankees that glow with “class” in all that they do, on and off the baseball diamond !!!
Take care, Canuck !!! … Have a great day !!!

Yes, Yogi Berra and Derek Jeter are “real” Yankees who represent the great Yankee history of greatness, winning, and true Yankees tradition !!! … They are both respected by all, and classly in all ares of their lives !!! … Very simply, Yogi Berra and Derek Jeter are two of the all-time greats in the history of our “great” game of Baseball !!!
Thanks for stopping by, Moneyball !!!
Take care, and, have a great day !!!

Great pictures! Yogi and Derek are probably my two favorite players still alive today. Forget Piazza and Bench, Yogi is the best catcher of all time.

    Hi, tribechick …

Those are nice words, in your comments, in honor of the Yankees “captain” Derek Jeter !!! … I think Jeter is respected by just about everybody, in and out of baseball; and, we can all learn a lot from Derek, especially, about “winning” and having “class” in all that we do !!! … Derek Jeter is a “true” Yankee, and one of the all-time greats in the history of Baseball !!!
Take care, tribechick; and, thanks for your visit !!!

Hey, Letsgoyankees … Thanks for your nice words about the pictures !!! …

I agree, I also think Yogi Berra is the best catcher of all-time !!! … Berra would be my choice as catcher, if I was starting a team; and, certainly, I would also want Jeter on my team at short !!! … Both, Berra and Jeter are “winners”, and, isn’t that the Yankees goal every year — to win the World Series !!! … In “big” games, in the regular season, and, in the post-season, I would want Yogi Berra and Derek Jeter in my lineup !!! … And, let’s not forget about Phil Rizzuto !!! … Ted Williams gave the best compliment regarding Rizzuto’s value to the Yankees when he said, “one of the main reasons the Yankees won all those Championships in the 1940’s and 1950’s was because they had Rizzuto at shortstop”. “If Boston had Phil Rizzuto, Williams continued, the Red Sox would have won some of those Championships.” … Great praise, indeed !!!
Take care, Letsgoyankees !!! … Have a great day !!!
